The Future Mr. & Mrs. Carl Carpenter ~ July 26, '08
This is Jim's sister Ellen, soon to be Mrs. Carpenter. She is about to retire from the work force where she has laboured for many years. We stopped and saw her on the return trip home.
Visiting Family
Doris, (Jim's sister) front left has come to live with us as of March 13th, 2008. She has been diagnosed with 4th stage lymphoma / advanced, but has since undergone Chemo and is doing quite well. While we went down to the graduation, she stayed with her daughter and family who have taken up residence in Doris' former home. They have done a great job with the upkeep of the homestead. John is behind Doris, Julie beside her and David (15) is at his mothers side. Doris' former neighbor Debbie, Aunt Gladys, cousin Rachel, and sister Ellen all stopped by while she was staying with them. A very nice visit was had by all.
Graduation or Just Goofy
Valerie had made a head band out of springs and cereal boxes that she was prohibited to wear prior to the graduation ~ but not after. So Jonathan and she decided to exchange hats. You cannot see them very well but the boxes atop of Jonathan in this picture are mortarboards with "08" on them. The youngin's sure did enjoy themselves.

Old Friends
Ruth & Al Fritz in their church where they sang the morning special. They were great! We shared a meal at their home the evening of Jonathan's Baccalaureate.

Hard to Maintain a BALANCE!
Valerie, our graduate this year. Though I would love to
tease and plague her for the little pest that she is, I must be nice to her lest I scar her. We love her dearly and don't want any lasting damage to her psyche. Besides, if she ever finds out who posted her picture ~ she will charge me with some lame excuse to take her somewhere, preferably shopping. She is our jewel, and a job, I mean, joy, joy, joy to have around......... Gotta run, ya'll pray for me!!!

Graduation Cake
The Pilgrim Holines Church in Marcy had a special service Sunday for the graduates from the church. Valerie is planning on finishing up her Senior year sometime this summer and so was included in the group. After service there was a time of food and fellowship.
Surprise visit
Jason, Sheri, and Victoria surprised us with a visit last Saturday. Valerie and I had gone on the Walk for Life in the morning, then attended a baby shower with Doris for someone at our church. When we came home these three greeted us.
Love those dimples
This is my first attempt to do a posting. Jim has done all the other ones. He is in bed and I have already had to call Sheri to see how to do the typing part. I did figure out the picture part though it took me a while to find the picture folder. Jason, Sheri, and Victoria came for a visit Saturday. It appears Victoria likes shopping at the fabric/craft store. Her mommy was looking for material for Victoria and the rest of us (Valerie, Doris, Daddy and Grandma) looked for bargains. I love the dimples Sheri gave to Victoria. Her smile is so precious.

Back in Grandpa's Arms
May 8th, 2008 we had a nice visit with Jason, Sheri, and Victoria (now 6 weeks old.) They are preparing to move to their new home in Johntown NY. Work - yes; Wearyness - yes; but at their age it is all part of The Wonderful Adventure!! So go for it! Victoria in her trusting gaze will just tag along for the ride.
